Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what parents ask most about booking, academies and competitions.

Do I pay for programs through Shagoof?

No. Booking on Shagoof reserves a place — no payment happens on the platform. After you book, the academy contacts you directly to confirm the details and arrange payment. Prices shown in a program table are for reference only and are set by each academy.

How do I book a place for my child?

On the academy's page, pick a program and choose which of your registered children it's for. You'll get a confirmation, and the academy receives the booking so it can follow up with you.

Is a guardian account free?

Yes — signing up to Shagoof is completely free.

How many children can I add to my account?

Up to 6 children on one guardian account, each with their own name, age and track.

How are academies approved?

Each academy applies through the “Register your academy” page, and the Shagoof team reviews the application before approving it. An academy only appears in the directory once it has been approved; if an application is turned down, the academy is told why and can update its details and apply again.

How do I contact an academy?

Use “Contact the academy” on its page and write your message. It goes straight to the academy's team, and the conversation carries on in a message thread on Shagoof — your phone number and email aren't shared automatically.

How do I register my child for a competition?

On the competition page, choose “Register your child now”, then pick your child and the participation domain — and, if you like, the academy they're preparing with. Keep an eye on the registration deadline shown in the countdown.

I'm not sure which track suits my child. Where do I start?

Start with the Parent's Guide — a simple table that matches your child's interests to a track and a starting age, plus four steps to take before you book.
